JourneyDeck Studios
X Notch Privacy Policy
Effective October 27, 2026.
X Notch is a free Windows app from JourneyDeck Studios. This page explains what it does with your data.
What X Notch asks Google for
Signing in with Google is optional. If you do it, X Notch asks for one permission only: https://www.googleapis.com/auth/drive.appdata. That permission lets X Notch see, create and delete its own configuration data in your Google Drive. X Notch does not ask for your name, email address or profile. It cannot see your other Drive files.
What X Notch stores
One file named accounts.json in the hidden app data folder in your own Google Drive. It holds the list of X account handles you pinned, the time the list last changed, and a file version number. It does not hold passwords, tokens or your X login.
On your computer
Your Google refresh token is encrypted with Windows and kept in X Notch's local data folder. Access tokens stay in memory only. If you sign out of Google in X Notch settings, the token is deleted and revoked at Google. Your X sign-in happens on x.com inside the app and stays on your computer.
Where data goes
No data is sent to JourneyDeck servers. X Notch talks to Google only to sign you in and sync that one file, to x.com to show your feeds and X Chat, and to GitHub to check for updates. We do not sell or share your data, and X Notch has no analytics or ads.
Limited Use
X Notch's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. https://developers.google.com/terms/api-services-user-data-policy
Your choices
To stop X Notch's access, remove it at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. To delete the synced file, open Google Drive, Settings, Manage apps, find X Notch and choose Delete hidden app data. Removing the app from your computer deletes the local copy.
