Checkout and payments

Studio products are paid for through Stripe, and Homeworld through Lemon Squeezy. Some products are also on Gumroad. Those providers take your payment and handle it under their own privacy policies. I never see card numbers.

Trip Recap and Trip Poster

What I collect

Checkout asks for your trip details in one free-text field: stops or cities, dates and songs. The checkout provider also gives me the contact details I need to email your files to you.

Why

To make your Trip Recap or Trip Poster, to send one follow-up email within 24 hours if details are missing, and to deliver your digital files by email.

Routes

Routes are trimmed near the start and end. No home addresses, ever.

Haggle Bot

Opening the haggle page chat creates a session, and chats are logged to prevent abuse. A log holds a session ID, a scrambled (hashed) version of your IP address instead of the address itself, the time, the items in your cart, your messages with names and emails redacted, and any prices and reasons discussed. Please don't put personal details in the chat. Logged chats are set to expire after 30 days. Cloudflare, which runs the chat and the site, also keeps request logs that include your IP address, browser and approximate location. Those logs are separate from the chat log above.

Analytics

The studio site uses Umami, a cookieless analytics service, for page views, checkout clicks and traffic source. It sets no cookies and uses no browser storage. It sends the page path and title, any utm_source, utm_medium and utm_campaign values, the site you came from, and your screen size and browser language. It respects Do Not Track. The studio site does not use Cloudflare Web Analytics.
